The 2025 AHL All-Star game was a showcase of the league's top talent, but one player made sure to stand out from the crowd. San Jose Barracuda forward, Andrew Poturalski, took to the ice sporting a unique pair of custom SkateSkins® that turned heads and honored a memorable night.
Poturalski, known for his offensive prowess and leadership, is no stranger to making a statement. But this time, it wasn't just his play on the ice that was grabbing attention. His SkateSkins®, featuring a vibrant design and personalized touches, were a clear reflection of his personality and style.
"I wanted to do something different, something that represented me," Poturalski explained after the game. "The All-Star game is a fun event, and I thought it would be a cool opportunity to showcase my individuality."
The custom SkateSkins® were a collaboration between Poturalski and creative director, Matthew Keeler, who worked together to create a design that was both eye-catching and meaningful.
The skins featured a bold color scheme, incorporating elements of the San Jose Sharks team colors, as well as Poturalski’s pets “Kemba” and “Charlotte”. The logo pays homage to his local course, Crag Burn Golf Club, where he spends most of his time when he’s back in Buffalo.
Poturalski's custom SkateSkins® are a reminder that hockey is more than just a game; it's a platform for self-expression and creativity. By pushing the boundaries oft the traditional hockey aesthetic, Poturalski has shown that it's possible to be both a skilled athlete and a trendsetter.
As Poturalski continues his career, he's sure to keep making a statement, both on and off the ice. And who knows, maybe his custom SkateSkins® will inspire other players to follow suit, adding a new dimension of style and personality to the game.
As Poturalski continues to make the most of his opportunities, he notched an assist with the San Jose Sharks on February 8th against the Dallas Stars.
